If you’re reading these reviews, you’re probably agonizing over recent or ongoing hair loss. You’ve tried everything being sold on the Internet and haven’t had any results. Maybe you’ve been to other hair loss “specialists”, purchased hundreds of dollars of their recommended products and still no results.

 

Believe me, I’ve been there. My hair started falling out by the handful every time I shampooed. Nothing I tried stopped or slowed down the hair loss.

Fortunately, one day I happened to mention my situation to the PA at my dermatologist, and she said, “I know exactly who you need to see. I sent my mom to Dr Hawkins and she’s had great results. I promise I wouldn’t recommend him unless I had firsthand knowledge of his successful treatments.”

I saw Dr. Hawkins, and, like other reviewers, he diagnosed me with LPP. He thoroughly explained the condition and answered all my questions. Most importantly, he didn’t provide false hope or unrealistic results. I followed the treatment plan and after 3 weeks I noticed a great reduction in the amount of hair falling out, and at 6 weeks I was no longer losing any hair.

Don’t waste your time going to hair loss clinics that offer “Free Consultations”. They normally sell everyone the same products regardless of the specific reason for the hair loss. But not all hair loss is for the same reason. So you should choose someone who can medically diagnose your specific cause and treat you individually. Dr. Hawkins is that someone.

On a side note…At the end of my first appointment, Dr. Hawkins said, “Here’s my cell phone number that you can call if you have any questions or concerns”. On Saturday of that week, I received a call from the Pharmacy about a question regarding one of the prescriptions. I sent a text to Dr. Hawkins, assuming he would reply on Monday. To my great surprise, I received a reply from him 20 minutes later....on a Saturday!

Stop searching and make the appointment now. You’ll be happy you did.

Had a virtual consultation with Dr. Hawkins and he was excellent. Didn't try to upsell me and knew exactly what he was talking about. Highly recommend.

Before coming to the Atlanta area, my dermatologist in DC recommended Dr. Spencer Hawkins at Hair Medicine Institute to me to continue my hair restoration regimen due to the effects of a history of thyroid disease and postmenopausal hair thinning. My consultation appointment went very well and Dr. Spencer was very thoughtful as we discussed my particular situation. After spending time helping me understand a viable option for me, we decided to go the medication route. I have been so happy with my results this past 10 months. I have also been very pleased with my care. Dr. Spencer makes himself available to me in between appointments and is always happy to answer any questions as needed. I can’t recommend Dr. Hawkins enough! After almost 2 years/2 other dermatologists and my LPP still getting worse, Dr. Hawkins dramatically improved my condition in just the first 6 weeks of starting treatment. He is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and answers every last one of my questions with complete honesty.

I am extremely pleased with the outcomes I have observed since commencing treatment with Dr. Hawkins. In early 2025, my hair began thinning around the face, prompting concern due to noticeable patches. To mitigate the appearance of bare spots, I resorted to applying eye shadow as a temporary solution. However, I soon realized the need to schedule a consultation, as the situation had become untenable. Following Dr. Hawkins' initiation of treatment, I began to notice improvements after the first six months. Now, approaching a year of treatment, the results are nothing short of remarkable!!! Dr. Hawkins and his team are second to none. Highly professional and skilled. He takes time to explain and answer questions at every step of the way. I started my treatment with medication and it was very effective. After one year of that plan, we decided that a transplant would maximize the results. Everything leading up to and on the day of the surgery was excellent. Dr. Hawkins and his tech team were clearly skilled and made every step comfortable. The post-surgery communication and availability were amazing. I will update my review when I am sure to report amazing results.

I’m so glad I found Dr. Hawkins. His consultation was thorough, and he took the time to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. I truly felt listened to and understood throughout the appointment.

What I especially appreciate is his willingness to collaborate with my hairstylist to ensure I wear low-tension hairstyles that support regrowth around my thinning edges and crown. He even provided a detailed chart to share with her.

Dr. Hawkins is readily available whenever I need him, and I feel confident in his treatment plan moving forward.
