Men with mild to moderate hair loss that are not completely bald. We need donor hair to transplant.
Who Doesn’t Benefit?
Men that are completely bald. If you don’t have donor hair to transplant, you won’t be a good candidate.
Offering both FUE and FUSE/FUT Hair Transplants
There are two ways to remove grafts from the back of the head.
FUE
Follicular Unit Excision
Hair is removed from the back of the scalp with a small ~1mm motorized punch tool. This is ideal for men that like to keep their hair short or don’t have significant loss. While sometimes marketed as “scar-less,” there are scars, but they are so small they are not easily noticed. Bigger procedures require shaving the back of the head. Smaller procedures don’t require a full shave and can be hidden by surrounding hair.
FUSE/FUT
Follicular Unit Strip Excision
Hair is removed through a long strip excision at the back of the scalp. This is ideal for men who have longer hair or have more significant hair loss because we can get more grafts and thicker grafts than with FUE. While sometimes villainized by inexperienced clinics as an “older technique” with a line scar, in men with long hair it is completely hidden. There is no need to shave your head.
DAY OF SURGERY
What to Expect
Design Your Hairline
Together with Dr. Hawkins we will design your hair line and ensure your comfort with medication for relaxation.
Extract the Grafts
Once you are comfortable, we will numb the back of the scalp and extract grafts. This takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the technique.
Place the Grafts
Following a catered lunch break around noon, the afternoon involves placing the grafts, during which you can unwind and watch TV.
